Re: Medical Practice Transfer Information
Dear Patients and Colleagues,
After 36 years of having the privilege of operating on and caring for patients and their families at the NYU Langone Medical Center, I have decided to move on to the next chapter of my life. After December 31, 2017, I will cease to practice medicine.
I am very pleased to announce that Darius Kohan, MD, FACS, at the above address, will assume the care of my patients. Some of you may have had the opportunity to meet Dr. Kohan over the past several months while I have been treating patients in this office. I have known Dr. Kohan since he was one of my residents in otolaryngology and then as my Otology/Neurotology Fellow at NYU Langone Medical Center. He has been practicing in New York City since his fellowship. His excellent clinical judgment and superb surgical skills have established him as an esteemed colleague and leading otologist/neurotologist in the metropolitan region. I feel fortunate to know that our patients will receive excellent care from Dr. Kohan.
Dr. Kohan’s office will retain my office telephone number to facilitate reaching him. The nonsurgical medical records for the past seven years and all surgical records from the practice have been transferred to Dr. Kohan’s office.
The opportunity to be part of my patients’ and their families’ lives has been a very special connection for me, which I will miss. While I will retire from private practice, I will still be teaching residents and Otology/Neurotology fellows in the Department of Otolaryngology at NYU Langone Medical Center, so I may continue to see you “on campus”.
